Performance Management and Compensation

Employee performance is based not only on what each employee achieves but how they achieve it. Based on our Leadership Expectations, our people evaluate their annual performance against this expectation as well as how they met their annual objectives. During the annual compensation review process, Mylan evaluates total compensation, role and employee performance. This includes review and remediation of gender differences if needed.

Succession Planning

With the support of the Mylan Board, our leadership team began developing a formal plan for succession planning with regard to critical global positions. Work includes a review of key roles and an internal review by senior leaders of potential internal candidates. Succession planning is ongoing, and we continue to identify successors and create development plans that will position these candidates for success in their next roles at Mylan.

Learning and Development

We give employees the tools they need to reach their full potential and support continuous learning. We strongly believe, however, that some of the best learning happens when employees step out of their comfort zone to grow professionally and personally. Through informal and formal mentorship and coaching, employees are challenged to find their true potential. We also use a learning management system, MyUniversity, for online education.

Employee Recognition

We continue to expand global programs that celebrate employee accomplishments. Mylstones, a Mylan program that recognizes employees celebrating major service anniversaries worldwide, is one such example. Additionally, there are a number of regional recognition efforts of which we are proud. Looking ahead, we will implement a global recognition initiative that spotlights employees for their achievements and success.

Employee Health and Safety

Safety Training

Through extensive training, Mylan’s employees and contractors receive information and knowledge to assist them in performing activities safely and without harm to themselves or others. We require employees to take safety courses based on job responsibilities and regulatory requirements including topics such as emergency response, hazardous energy, confined space, powered industrial trucks, personal protective equipment and many others. Global or regional training campaigns are also conducted and have included topics such as fall prevention, incident prevention opportunities and situational awareness. Training is administered through our online MyUniversity platform as electronic learning, classroom training or practical training and are translated to local or native languages.

Contractor Safety

Our commitment to safety extends beyond our employees. Across all locations, protecting the safety of our contractors and visitors is part of our EHS management system. Contractors and visitors are covered by EHS policies and procedures applicable at their specific sites. We have established guidelines and expectations for contractor safety management, prescreening and training. Contractor safety performance is tracked and included in our contractor safety metrics. We have not experienced any work-related fatalities among contractors since 2017.
