Mylan Provides Medical Equipment to Establish COVID-19 care center in Hosur, India

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic Mylan teams across the world have been working closely with respective governments to find all available options to make health systems resilient and adapt to the consequences of the pandemic.

The Injectables team at the Hosur facility procured and donated emergency medical equipment and essentials for ESI hospital, a designated COVID Care center, in Hosur, Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. The COVID Care Center offers care for cases that have been clinically assigned as mild or very mild cases or COVID suspect cases. It is a 50-bed facility, with allocation of 42-beds to their isolation ward to treat COVID 19 patients and 8 beds to the ICU facility. The equipment and essentials provided by Mylan has significantly improved its capacity to fight against COVID 19 pandemic and treatment of patients.

The critical care medical equipment worth Rs. 37 Lakhs was donated to the hospital to set up an isolation ward necessary for setting up a COVID 19 Care Centre.

The request was initiated by the District Administration team of Krishnagiri to strengthen the district healthcare system, with adequate facilities, to tackle the COVID-19 situation. The ESI hospital supports around 1.4 million people in the district, and a significant number of them being industrial workers.
