Mylan receives a five-star rating in the British Safety Council Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit

Two of Mylan's API Units in Vijayanagram and Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, India have achieved Five-Star ratings in the Occupational Health and Safety Audit conducted by the British Safety Council (BSC).

The British Safety Council’s Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit provides organizations with a worldwide benchmark of their safety management systems against the current best practice to enable continual improvement. The audit measures performance against recognized Best Practice Indicators (leadership, stakeholder engagement, risk management, organizational health and safety culture and continual improvement), identifies areas of positive/negative practice and provides a structured approach toward continual improvement and best practice status.

The two API units underwent a detailed, quantified and objective evaluation of its occupational health and safety management systems. The audit measured the performance against several key best practice indicators and achieved the highest available rating. The Five Star Audit process outcome is determined by application of the British Safety Council’s quantified system of evaluation.

Last year in April, Mylan’s received the first 5 star rating for its two API units in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and the coveted Sword of Honor recognition from the British Safety Council.

The successful completion of this audit demonstrates Mylan’s commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety standards for employees, clients and other stakeholders.

British Safety Council audit is a globally recognized and coveted audit across organizations. It is the highest rating that is awarded by British Safety Council to recognize the “best in class” in occupational health and safety management system.
